i need a bed that will fit up to 82" wide or long, preferably as wide as i can go, i share a full sized bed with my finace, and it's rather difficult to sleep with only a foot of bed space to sleep with, he's a bed hog...I'm trying to find the biggest bed, i dont care howlong it is, as long as it's wide enough to fit up to 80"...does anyone know the dementions of a king or california king mattress?

The best way to visualize the size is this. Put together side by side two twin beds. That is how wide a king size bed is. As for length, you would have to order the longer length variety, because most sheets and covers are designed to fit the regular length 72 inches. The width of a regular twin is 46 inches.
For your needs buy the superking, which are 2 fullsize widths together. That should be enough room for the two of you. Have all linen specially ordered through the specialty stores.

BTW, Anthonys answer is a queen size bed, the most common size everyone has
