ok. a long time ago i asked about a boy wondering if he liked me. Well we still talk and flirt and he calls me his favorite girl in school and so on. Well it's been a while and he doesn't have a girlfrien anymore and all my friends really want me to ask him to the xmas dance. I m not sure if i would rather go alone, but are hs dances w/ no date fun? There's one day left till break so i would have to ask him tomorrow. How can i ask him to teh xmas dance without anything cheesy or stupid. Please help.

Since he is a friend, just ask him if he's going to the dance with anybody. If he says no, then let him know that you don't have a date either. Then ask if he would like to be your date for the dance. If all he feels for you is friendship, then he won't think anything of you asking, and probably say yes. If he likes you back, then he'll be flattered and jump at the chance to take you on a "date." So either way, you would be able to go with him, and use that night to figure out exactly how he feels for you. The clues will be in how he dances with you, especially during slow dances.
Does he hold you close, or is there plenty of space between your bodies?
Are his hands on your back, or resting on your sides?
Does he look into your eyes, or does his gaze wander elsewhere?
Does he complement how great you look more than once, or did he say it when he first saw you and not mention it again?
Does he make any extra effort to look nice for you, or did he just throw on the same old clothes he wears to school?
To name a few.

It would depend on how formal the dance is for how good or bad it is to be date-less. The more formal a dance, the more fun it is to have a date. Not just because it's the tradtional thing to do, but most formals usually have more slow dances than casual ones with plenty of romantic/love songs being played. And many couples want to dance with the date they came with, so there is less variety of partners. So you may find yourself uncomfortable, or even resentful, if you are sitting on the sidelines, and not on the floor with the guy of your choice.
If it's a casual dance, then go however you want, by yourself, with friends, or with a date. It won't matter as much since people are only there to have fun, and not show off their dresses and dates.

Keep this in mind since were talking about children and not adults. Boys and Girls are one of which flows downward on the stream and no uphill climbers. Females are easily touched by a laugh or a smile and instinctively are drawn by nature to the opposite sex unless otherwise taught differently. Boys will be Boys and Girls will be Girls. Boys have GI Joe, Girls have Barbie. Barbie meet Gi Joe and his new back pack and emergency raft flotation device. Girls will giggle and Boys will laugh. The power of love is amongst the innocent, but the innocent is not mature enough to know the difference unless it is taught to them between right and wrong. When a Boy touches a Girl for the first time,. she will go astray as her brain try's to figure out what is happening/ Boys will lose their heads when spoken softly by a Girl. The most important thing that Girls like in Boys is when they listen instead of running their mouths. Pay attention to her and listen to what she has to say. When I was a child I learned very quickly to become independent. I learn how to drive on my own, by the age of ten I was hauling a big Caterpillar Tractor and carried an IQ of 80 and for a child that was alot. I have an IQ of 140 now. Children are innocent and very smart and this is why we as a adults must insure that children remain safe from the predators. The children are tomorrows future. Peace my friend!!

it is fun to go to a hs dance w/out any one cause you can always meet your friends their and talk about the lame dresses and all you have to do is ask him if he wants to go with you.
