I've never met an athiest who loved people. They always seem to be misanthropes. Maybe athiests have never met Christians who love them. I don't know. But if you are athiest what do you have hope in?

And can you prove that God isn't real? Just as I cannot prove to you that He is. I just don't know if I could go through life hating people and God, and people who love God.

I love many people. I love my mother, father, sister, and brother-in-law. I love my grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins. I love my friends and my boyfriend. I'm also pretty fond of my dog and my cat. It's good to meet you. Also, most of my family are Christians and they love me.

I have hope in my ability to make the world better. I have hope that my writing will someday get published and read. I have hope that I will get married and have children, raise them to be productive and happy human beings. I have hope that someday human beings will stop being a negative force in the world and will be able to live peacefully in it. I even have hope that someday Starbucks will start serving good coffee :-P.

I don't have to be able to prove that a god doesn't exist. No one who believes in one has ever proven that they do. Do you believe in the Tooth Fairy? It's the same idea.

I don't hate people, and I can't hate an imaginary being. I hope that you get to meet some freethinkers like my friends and myself, so that your negative assumptions of us can be alleviated.

Wow for saying that atheists are "misanthropes" you ask this question with a pretty pessimistic tone.

You are being very generalizing when you make your claims. An atheist is just a person who doesn't believe in God, not some organization of people who hate life.

And what do you mean no hope in anything? I'm an atheist and a microbiologist. I believe in humanity and love and the possibility of peace among people. I do research on pediatric HIV and because of the work we have done, we have almost eliminated cases of mothers passing HIV on to their children.

What has religion done? Start wars, 9/11, extremists, Nazis, KKK, hates gays, oppresses women, crusades, inquisitions.
The Church almost killed Galileo because he said the Earth revolved around the sun. Where is the compassion there?

In my experience, atheists are much more compassionate and human loving than Christians. An atheist will work to solve problems on Earth while a Christian will say "things will be better in Heaven, be patient".

hmmmmmmmmmmmm
This must be the question you wondered why the atheists replying seemed hostile.

Do you think people could be reacting to your arrogant demeanor when you talk to all these atheists that hate people?

I volunteer in several human service events and the animal shelter. I contribute time and money to causes which most people, Christian or otherwise, might deem to be worthwhile.

I spent 20 years in the health care industry as a hands-on worker in patient care. Never had any problems getting along happily with the religious, including Christian, Jew, and Muslim.

I don't hate people. I don't hate you for believing in what I consider to be mythology. I don't appreciate having a superior attitude shoved in my face, though. I don't like stereotypes, either.

As for proof, the burden of proof lies with the positive, so I have nothing to prove.

I have hope that reason and reality will eventually prevail, and all earthers will be able to live life in peace.

I think you are generalizing too much. In reality, statistically speaking, believers tend to discriminate or hate other people more frequently just because they have a different faith or worship a different God. It is ludricous, but it is true
The most blatant example are the Muslims, some of them want just to kill the infidels.
The Church has killed thousands of people because they were considered heretics. Galileo was put on trial and excommunicated. Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. And on and on.
Religion is more associated with hatred than atheism.
Just watch some morning TV preachers and pay attention to their tone of voice. It is not love. It is the sound of fear and condemnation.
I could say a lot more.

I have hope in the people around the world who can make the world a better place, because right now, the world is in chaos. Even though I'm not Christian, but it seems the End of the World is near. It also seems the AntiChrist is coming soon because the world is in havoc. I wonder if the AntiChrist's name will be Nero Caesar..... But I do love people. Why wouldn't I?

Same old circular argument isn't it? As for hating people, my personal view is that in order to hate someone well, you'd need at least a thousand years or so to do it right. Since I don't have the time to waste, I don't hate, it takes too much energy. And as for people who love God, that's fine by me. Everyone has the right to live as they choose as long as they do not force their choices on others. That is probably why people are against religion in general: choices are being ignored and personal rights are being compromised.

"I've never met an athiest who loved people." Exactly, how many Atheists have you actually met? Did you actually get to know the ones you did meet? Or did you just dismiss them because they were angry that you insulted them?

We aren't of a different species. I've loved many Christians in my life. My entire family is either Christian or Catholic. I'm said to fall in love easily. To say that Atheists do not love is to say that they do not bleed.

Not all Atheists are hateful, just as not all Christians are loving. A person can love others, and can have hope for the future and present without having to believe in God.

First of all, please stop doing as most Christians do by assuming that atheists are a miserable bunch.

Second, what makes you think I don't love people? I love those that I truly care about... my son, my girlfriend, my parents, my friends, my trusted comrades, etc. Why do you assume that since we don't believe in your god, we are incapable of love? I have hope in things that I can look forward to and have a good chance of happening. I can do my best to make them happen... and that's where hope comes in. I don't hope in things that are just irrational.

As for proving that God isn't real, I'll do that as soon as you can prove to me that you don't owe me $10,000. You can't prove a negative... you can't prove to me that unicorns don't exist.

I don't hate people, and I certainly don't hate a god that I don't even believe exists. I don't know why you would assume that we do.
