and is peeing all over the house. I have since stopped peeing in his cat box, it has been cleaned, several times (outside, hose, new litter, the works), but he will not use it.

Is there any other option apart from putting the cat down?

thanks...

Why did u pee in his cat box. Then he DEFINATELY wouldn't want to use it. Anyway, maybe try some dirt instead of litter and see if that works. If it doesn't just pee in his face.

Oh man, do you need help. The cat, however needs help even more than you do. It's a tiny little animal, and she loves it. Let's hope you and the cat can get along, or she just might start to think she married the wrong guy!

Go to the pet store and get a NEW cat box and liners and litter, etc. Put it in a NEW place, and show it to the cat. Even more important, get a good clean regular water source and get some stuff from the PET store called, "Good Cat". It costs about $10/bottle. Follow the directions on the bottle for as long as it takes. If you use it all up and it hasn't done the job completely yet, get another bottle. You may go through about 5 or 6 bottles until the cat has calmed down and doesn't feel threatened anymore. It has worked for me on many difficult cases. Good Luck : )

The cat must be a Tom Cat-----if he isn't fixed which I suspect he isn't then he needs to be for will stop him from spraying-marking his territorey-which is normal for a cat to do-even the big cats do it------------You need to take the litterbox and douse with Vinegar-let the vinegar sit in it for approx 1 hour then rinse must wipe the entire box down-outside too to make sure all traces of your scent(urine human and animals has identity factors in it to animals and since you have sprayed over his-claimed it for yours and you being bigger the cat conceded (being very smart) the object to you. Animals are not petty or indulge in payback stuff or jealousy stuff -those are srtictly human traits that humans will attribute(mistakenly) to animals. Animals are all instinct and generations of gene behaviours-do exactly as God programmed them to do . I doubt the cat deliberately picked on your stuff unless picking up "Male" scent but Not because you are husband of his owner your wife or could also be that your stuff was laying around to marl while wife's wasn't so accessible. Do you by chance have a dog-where the dog smell is on you and transferred to your stuf-another reason why cat would spray your stuff. Also do not cconsider that a valid reason to put a cat down-if you decide do not want then call Humane Society or contact PETSMART for a Cat Rescue -knew od 1 person that took and left cat at petsmart and they took in for nothing else they could do. Anyway need to get your smell off litterbox-why not buy a brand new one for if your scent has penetrated into the material its made of cat will never then use it. If cat not fixed then get fixed-even females will spray-marking territories. Good Luck

You basically marked your territory, is the way the cat feels. The cat may have freaked out on litter boxes so anyway you can disguise the box and make it look like something around the house might do it.

The cat knows you hate him! You are jealous of the cat and the cat feels that you have marked his territory when you peed in his litter box.! Don't put the cat down! Give him away.Seems like the two of you can't live under the same roof.

Have you just recently moved in together? I have a cat that does that but only when she is feeling jilted...or stressed. Also it could be a bladder infection, but kinda doesn't sound like it. There are pills that can help with stress we've used them a couple times with our cat if she'd really freaking out, you can get them at your vet. Other than that I would try make sure your nice to the cat, make it think you like it even if you don't. Talk to your vet before you put it down they might have some suggestions.

You might also try the cheapest alternative first.... buy him a new litterbox.

I think you should give the cat to someone who would appreciate it more. If it is peeing outside of its box there is an underlying problem. Most pet owners get this problem figured out, not being stupid and peeing in the cats box. Your wife should smack the s**t out of you.

Wipe the cat pee and place the soiled rag in another litter box. In this way, your cat will follow his/her scent and start using the new box. I have eight cats, all toilet trained.
p.s. count yourself lucky your wife don't put you down!

Putting the cat down because he won't stop peeing......If it is that bad, get him fixed and if he already is then talk to your vet about it.
