there is this really sweet and nice guy that i like a lot. i try to talk to him a lot ( i only see him sundays and wednesday.) and was thinking. maybe i should ask him if we could IM sometimes. (i have known him for over 4 years) so guys, would u like it if a girl asked u this? or would u be creeped out? we r friends and he knows me really well. plzzz help!! (i am shy)

The best way to do it, is to write your e-mail on a piece of paper and tell him to add you sometime. It think it would be a nice gesture, and he wouldn't be grossed out simply because you guys are friends and you've known each other a long time. Then, if you guys are talking online you can flirt with im easily and let him know how to feel, and if it's necessary, be let down easily too. I think you should just go for it, but leave it up to him to add you.

I know that I am not a guy, so you may not value my opinion as much. But it couldn't hurt to IM him.
Can you find out his ID without asking him? Then maybe some day that you don't normally see him, you could just say "Hey, this is ________. I just wanted to say hi. Hope you're having a good day :)" ... See how he responds. I have done that to a few guys before. It went well.

Start with a phone conversation, but make it short. Tell him you have to go but you can chat with him on the sly via IM. That will get him into that forum. But there really shouldn't be any diffferent discussions via computer than you would have live or via phone. Try to relax a bit and be yourself. You already have an advantage that he knows you.

the IM thing is a little cheesy, I would just make some small talk and say "um..hey...you know what? we need to get together sometime." exchange numbers. You would probably have to call him first but there is always texting, that's cool.

well im a young male of 15 and to me IM is good as long as u dont get in contact to my cousins (well in my situation B/C i got secrets i dont want told until later) but IMing is great its a gr* way to start a relationship
