Here's a newsflash for you: *everyone* was born an atheist. You have to learn to be religious - if "learn" is the right word.
And to an earlier poster, the lack of religion is not a religion, nor I might add does atheism make for bad behavior. One thing atheists are above all else is HONEST: we will admit to disbelieving in all your imaginary gods and devils, and implore you to discard all that medieval nonsense for the real world.
But we do support anyone's right to believe anything they wish, something the religious are reluctant to grant to us. Where it stops though is when you attempt to commit crimes in the name of your religion, such as not taking your children to doctors when they need them, lying to people about the "hazards" of abortion (never mind bombing clinics and murdering doctors), or making up "facts" that are contrary to science like you do with evolution.
You can believe anything you want but you can't DO anything you want. Even the mythical Jesus told you to "render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's." That includes not putting religious symbols on public property!
We'd all get along much better if you would learn the meaning of humility and realize that no one has all the answers, not even all of you and Jesus put together.

Like all other instruments our intellect is also an instrument with certain limits, apart from this fact that it cannot compass the limitless universe it cannot even help to understand ones own self; God first of all created the knowledge (Gods own knowledge) and with knowledge God did everything such as first with knowledge God created birth and with the birth of all things their seeds, process of their growth and decline ultimately God created death and mortality as a future of all things; God is The Creator of the knowledge of creation and its process. God created the conscious and the work of the conscious and made intellect a means of understanding creatures. Since God is The Creator of intellect or understanding, intellect or understanding cannot compass God. That is why some of us do not believe in God due to the intellect or understanding.
All the deniers deny God, on account of the reason that God is not encircled by their intellect. And ___ all the believers believe in God, on account of the same reason that God is not encircled by their intellect. Therefore, the believers and the deniers, the both, do agree that God is not encircle-able by human intellect.
The believers do believe that God is Ever Sufficient for them and for their needs. And___ God not only, suffices them and their needs, rather, God guides them in every matter in every walk of life. By and by, a co-existing fact is notice-worthy that God remains Ever Sufficient for the deniers as well.
If God had been for the believers alone and God had not been for the deniers___ then everyone would have believed in God’s existence equally so as to meet their needs of life equally.

Because for something to have existence, it must be tangible...otherwise, it must have characteristics that are measureable, reproduceable, recognizable, relational, and operational. the concept "god" is part of a supernatural myth. myths don't have tangible properties. supernatural beings, by definition, don't exist. however, people with weak minds can make themselves believe in things that don't exist, especially if wiley religious leaders use their powers to manipulate these people into believing to serve their (the wiley religious leaders) own needs, like for money, power, respect, housing, jobs.

People generally say that because they dont like the idea that there could be a higher power, because quite a few people believe that if there is a higher power, they are not in control of their own lives.
Other people say that because they dont have proof, and need some tangible evidence to be able to believe in God, and until that comes around, they will continue to deny his existence.

Well, people may be tired of seeing God used to justified wars and crimes. I think that in their hearts, people want to believe but when they see that the worst is often done by the ones that are supposed to protect and promote peace and respect human life, like the people we elect in power and those that are in churches. All that may bring doubts to us.

No religion can prove that there is a man living in a cloud. They always come up empty handed. The only proof that they have is that someone said so.

It is their beleif, however they were hasty in their statement.
The existence of God should never be positivley or negativley affirmed, any opinions on the subject should be prefaced with "I believe"
Therefore they should of said "We beleive God doesn't exist"

Please read my words carefully:
If you see footmark in the sand, you'll say that someone passed from here...
If you see a piece of dog sh*t on the ground, you'll say that a dog passed from here...
So what about the enormous universe, the sky, stars, planets, earth and all the beauty in it, doesn't it lead to that someone made it?!!!
Some people say that everything is created by itself after the big-bang... I won't ask you about what caused the big-bang, but I'll ask you a simple question:
If you take all the letters of the alphabet, multiples of them, and you threw them randomly on the floor. Do you expect (by a chance of one in infinity) to get a poem like shakespear's??!!
Can't you see how organized our universe is, the planets, the eco-system on earth, look even in your own body... Can you control your heart-beat? Can you control your breath while you're sleeping? Who stopped your eye-lashes from growing after reaching a certain length? Who told the baby turtles to move towards the sea and not to the earth after they come out of their eggs? Who taught the bird how to make nests?
My friend, think with your heart and brain. If you're still lost, think about the following:
Do you know how to play safe?
Your point:
If there's no God and you do all what you want in life, then nothing will happen to you after life. But if there was God and you were mistaken, then you'll blame yourself FOREVER...
Believer's point:
If there's God and I followed His commands in life, then I'll be in Heaven after life FOREVER. But if there was no God and we're mistaken, then nothing bad will happen to us after life...
Now you know how to play-safe, in case you're not convinced?
