I just got married last weekend and my gown is in perfect condition. Although it was beautiful and the gown of my dreams, I don't really want to keep it sitting in my closet. No one I know is the same size as I am so there's no one to give it to. Odds are it'll be out of date by the time my daughter gets married, so I'd rather just buy her a new one. How do I find someone in need of a wedding gown?

Also, if someone knows anyone (or you yourself) don't have the money or a means to a dress, I would love to give it to someone who really needs one. It's a size 2. I'm open to emails.

There is an organization that uses wedding dresses (and bridesmaid dress, prom dresses..etc) to make buriel dresses for babies that have become Angels. You won't make any money from it and you won't make some poor bride happy but you will give countless parents an opportunity to see their child look as beautiful as they imagined them to be. I have attached the link so you (or anybody else) could look at it.

If you really want your beautiful dress to go to someone who NEEDS it, then think about donating it to Salvation Army or Goodwill or some other retail / charity organization. Since you don't seem to be the materialistic type (i.e., someone who is going to save a dress she will never wear), then I can think of some romantic things you can use it for, other than wearing:
1. Find someone who makes those beautiful lacy wedding albums-- have him/her use the material from your dress ...
2. Use the material for a first anniversary sexy nightgown... if you cannot sew, have a seamstress make one to your specifications. It will be romanitic and steamy, all in one.
3. Make something from it that your son/sons/daughter/daughters can use for their wedding--the "something old," and maybe start a new tradition: have the gown made into a beautiful ring-bearer's pillow, that they can pass down to their children one day...
And, of course, you can take it to a consignment shop and recoup part of the great expense it took to be the beautiful bride. You can also put an ad in your local shopper---a lot of folks read that--or post on ebay (which will cost you money and I don't know if it is worth the hassle, unless you have other things you want to sell).

Some people have them made into a christening gown. Or you could offer it to a daughter to be taken apart and some of the pieces included in her gown. Plus, little girls just love to see Mommy's wedding gown.
You say you just got married last weekend - did you have your drycleaner "heirloom" it? They clean and pack it so it'll stay white. Otherwise, mystery spots will show up years later.

Why not give it to charity? The link below will take you to the Making Memories Brides Against Breast Cancer web site. There you can find out how to make your unwanted bridal gown a blessing for others. Good Luck! : )

My friend bought a gown on eBay, so you could probably do that. Sounds a bit unromantic, though, and I am the sentimental type.
I obviously don't know your religion, but have you ever considered holding on to your dress and having it made into Christening gown/s for your child/ren?!?

Well I'm not too sure... I guess there is always the classifieds except I don't think that really works very well for wedding dresses. You might go in to the store you got it from or any other wedding dress store for that matter and see what they can tell you.

You can have it preserved and boxed and stick in in your closet. Seems a shame to get rid of it a week later. Your future daughter could always have it reworked into a modern style or who knows- clothing trends always come back.

Keep it in your closet no matter what! Trust me, later on when u have kids, u will want to show them that dress. Its a precious memory that u should keep with u forever. If u get rid of it, ull regret it sooner or later.

Put an ad in the local classified ads or try selling it on ebay. You can also try Craigslist (www.craigslist.com) to find someone who would want to buy it! Good luck!!

put it on consignment @ a bridal shop or sell it on angelosbridal.com. It is $15 to post for a whole year.
