It a messed up racist comment and for all te people on here are saying it is the truth are messed up too. I speak spanish stupid A__es and I was born here. You can't do anything about it.

Also English is not the official language of the US. The US has NO official language. For all the people stating that English is should check up on this before speaking on it. I agree since most people speak english here people need to learn it, but why direct it at the spanish speakers. Asians, africans, etc come here and don't speak english either.

Nothing wrong with speaking Spanish, really, it's a really pretty language. Comma. It's not the official language of the United States. It's also a sticking point in the immigration debate, because some people are copping the 'easy out' and deciding to ask for everything to be 'en espanol' instead of really taking the effort to learn the english language. English and Spanish are similar, in some ways, and I really don't think that English is that hard to learn...and it's not too much to ask of people that if they intend to come and live in the United States that they at least TRY to develop a working knowledge of our language....

I know i agree with you. I was also born here in the u.s. and i know spanish so how could i be invading the u.s when i was born here. Who ever said that is also just saying that its just spanish speakers, so they are making the assumption that only hispanic people are "invading" the u.s. when there are plety of immigrants from other countries.

the statement is generalized, not all spanish speaking people are just now comming to the US , some have been here for decades. I think what they mean is, that they are tired of us having to bow down to the spanish speaking population, by adding spanish translations to everything, from government documents (drivers tests ets) to product labels. Many feel if you're here and you came here voluntarily and want to live here, then learn our language. I can't see Mexico putting any english translations anywhere, but tourist spots where they want our money.

I would think that the comment was aimed at legal and illegal immigrants that expect the US to carter to them by doing business in Spanish. The language of this country is English and in the past if you came here you expected to learn the language why has that changed?

It is rude to tell secrets in front of someone, this is just basic American etiquette- so can you figure why Americans dont like when people speak foreign languages in front of them?

a very racist one obviously . some just don't understand than that kind of comments give a bad name to America and pretty much puts Americans as if they were not welcoming to anyone . spanish is the second most important language in the world so ignoring this fact or trying to diminish it is just not the smartest thing to do . lets not forget too that most countries in AMERICA speak spanish so being able to make business with those countries is of extreme importance . i also would like to add that being able to speak more than one language ( even if is not spanish ) in America is not a burden and its always helpfull since we are so multicultural . so i aplaud anyone making that effort to better his/her life .
