The most popular and the best know are really two different things. The best known, at least in the last hundred years, easily be Picasso first, then Warhol. However, that doesn't make their paintings the most popular. The most reproduced painting from the last hundred years is probably Edward Hopper's 'Nighthawks At The Dinner.'

Before 1900, I would have to say Van Gogh has had more works reproduced than any other artist.

worlds most reproduced painting is mona lisa by davinci .overall van gogh as a painter is reproduced the most, his most reproduced being 'starry night'. therefore he is the most popular although he only ever sold 1 during his lifetime.
