Although Jesus is God, He is not the Father, He is not the Holy Spirit.
The Trinity -
Father - the Creator
Jesus - The Son, The Redeemer
The Holy Spirit - The Enabler
I guess we disagree that it HAS to be in Jesus' Name only,
but either baptism language mentioned above will consecrate the decision to follow Jesus as Saviour and Lord.
See you there, in the Air!

To do anything "in Jesus' name" means to do it according to His will. His will regarding baptism is clear. He personally commanded that the Apostles baptize in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, to baptize in any other way is not baptizing in Jesus' name, because it is not baptizing in accord with His stated will.

We in the LDS Church baptize new members as dictated in the Book of Mormon as follows:
(Full Name), having authority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

Personally I don't think it matters. It our own heart towards God that matters. Some do feel that Father, Son, Holy Spirit are titles and not names. I think allot of people set hug up on things like this and it causes more division between brothers and sisters in the Lord than it does anything else.

Hm... Jesus was baptized in holy spirit name right? He could not be baptized in his name.. strange. I think the holy spirit would work just right. GOD will be better. Anyway, aren't father, holy spirit and Jesus supposed to be the same, GOD?

They need to be baptized in the name of the entire Trinity. I see that the Mormon said they Baptize in all three names but, they do not believe all three are God so why do they even bother?

Well, I've been taught that the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost all make one, so it really doesn't matter.

Because its worded that way for a reason.
Even if you said "in the name of the Trinity", you would be inorrect.
There is no breakdown of a single Person.
They all share the same Divine Life.
They are One.

It doesn't matter. One in three, three in one. God is the son, the father, the spirit. I for one am really tired of these silly divisions people keep trying to put in and amongst believers!
