It depends on what I knocked him down for. If he's a scumbag, probably nothing. I'll take my licks, and own up to it, but I'm not gonna help him out if he deserved what he got. If it is an accident, I will do whatever is necessary to handle the situation.

How did you knock him down - by car, or accidentally by shoving? No matter what, if YOU knocked him down, and then he DIED, you're gonna do time. But a good lawyer can get you reduced time if you CLEARLY didn't do it on purpose. Could be only 5 years.

I would suggest seeing a therapist. You're not screwed up, but if that happened to me I would feel incredibly guilty, even though I never meant to hurt the person (think Zach Braff in Garden State, if you've seen that movie.) A therapist could help reassure you that it wasn't your fault and work to lessen your guilt. I've seen a therapist, and I have no major problems, but it helps me resolve what's going on in my head. There's free therapy at many mental health centers. Or, you could try a support group.

I would probably kick him some more to make sure he's REALLY dead. Just kidding. I would probably call 911, and while thier getting there i would give him CPR (i got an A+ in first aid, heh heh.).

Did he run into you, or you into him?
Even if you were totally NOT at fault, yet you will sound really bad and wonder if there were anything you could have done to prevent it.

call the hospital and police.
of course i'd like to escape from the charge of murder, but things just get worst if i keep running away and holding back from the truth!
at least, they court will find me unintentionally kill that person, or cooperating accordingly with the cops..
