Windows XP Professional gives you all the benefits of Windows XP Home Edition, plus additional remote access, security, performance, manageability and multi-lingual features that make it the operating system of choice for businesses of all sizes and people who demand the most out of their computing experience.

The people above have answered your question, but if you are looking to upgrade, many online shops are selling XP cheap because the new version Vista is coming out on 11/30. Also, XP Pro is cheaper than Home. (I'm not sure why.) I've read that XP Pro will be supported with security updates longer than Home. Instead of Vista I'd upgrade to XP because all the bugs aren't worked out.

I am going to assume you mean between XP Home and XP pro.
The main difference is that you cannot log into a Domain with XP home. Domains are usually setup using a Server Client network. It requires XP pro to have that function. In a peer to peer network (like most home networks) it is not really a big deal.

Hope this helps

About $80.

And, XP Pro has better networking and group policy features, making it better-suited for corporate life. It also integrates well with MS Server faxing capabilities.
