how to dye my hair?

how do i dye my hair red ? should i do it when i'm gettin a perm or wait longer.

NO NO NO you can not perm and dye in the same day. I have asked for this many times myself because I wanted a total change and the hair dresser has always told me NO you don't want to do that you have to wait 2 week in between so you dont have breakage. If you dye first then you have to use a prem for treated hair.. If you perm first I think you will be OK>

Most professionals recommend a wait between dyeing and perming of around 2 weeks as too many checmical processes at the one time can seriously damage your hair - the following website has a large section on how to bleach and dye your hair along with hints/tips etc if you are looking to dye your hair yourself - it would be safer to get a professional to do this but costs can sometimes prevent this :( For the perm I really recommend getting someone who knows what they're doing to do this as its very hard to get the desired results with a home perming kit.

if you dye your hair and then get a perm, your hair gets really thin. this happened to my friend and when she brushes it, pieces fall out and the ends always split

You could ask the salon people to do it when they do the perm!!

I highly suggest getting a professional to do it. I have mine done...much better safe than sorry.
