I like the sweet potatoes at Boston Market, does anyone know a good recipe to mimick these? Very important because these are my contribution to the T-day fest on Thursday.

Depending on how many people are coming, you'll have to change the amounts. I use the best canned ones that I can find...too busy to bother with the fresh ones.

This is for two large cans, (just double for amounts).

2 large cans of sweet potatoes
1 stick of butter
1 cup of brown sugar
1 large orange sliced thin

In a large heavy frying pan, melt on stick of butter and one cup of dark brown sugar and the sliced orange, cook about 5 minutes or until everything is melted. It will form a sugar paste that will slide around, into the place two cans of potatoes that have been drained. Cook on medium heat for about 20 minutes. Trying not to break up or mash the potatoes but turn then gently. Do not put a lid on the pan, this makes droplets of water from the steam.

To transport them...put a cover of foil over the pan (poke a few small holes into it) wrap the pot in a heavy towel. In a empty box thta will hold the pan, layer sheets of newspaper, place the pan inside the box and cover with layers of paper. This is will keep the potatoes nice and hot.

Don't have a Boston Market around here, so don't know what they serve. Recipes you've gotten so far are for like Candied Sweet Potatoes. I wanted to give you another idea. I combined two different recipes, the bottom from Sweet Potato Souffle II and the topping from Sweet Potato Casserole I, so I don't know whether to call it a souffle or a casserole. The topping is sooo tasty. It's easy, too.

Also, it travels well. It's still good even if it's not piping hot.

3 cups cooked, drained and mashed sweet potatoes
(32 oz can of sweet potatoes ok, but do not cook.)
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 eggs
3/4 stick margarine, melted
1/2 cup milk (soy, almond or other milk ok, too)
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (can subs. pumpkin spice)
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped pecans (I like a little more than that, maybe cup)

Preheat oven to 375
Put all ingredients in large bowl and combine well using an electric mixer. Pour into a 2 1/2 or 3 quart casserole dish If you use a 2 1/2 quart dish, you will probably need to also use a small casserole dish, too (one to keep at home in case there's no leftovers).

Topping:
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup margarine
1 cup nuts chopped
1/3 cup self-rising flour
1 cup coconut

Mix all topping ingredients together by hand and put on top of sweet potato mixture.

Bake for 25 - 30 minutes. (Check during last 10 minutes, if topping getting too brown, just loosely place a piece of aluminum foil over it.

Hope you and your family have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm not sure about the Boston Markey Sweet Pots , However I will give you my 2 best recipes and you can choose what you like best. These both have been tried and true through dozens of family members even ones who thought they didnt like sweet potatoes .

1st recipe. Sweet Potatoe Casserole
You will need 1 baking pan or dish .
3 Large sweet potatoes
Molasses
Brown Sugar
Butter
Raisin (can be omitted if you dont like)
Marshmellows.
Take Your S.Pots and rinse them , Leave skin on and Boil Until you can stick a knife through them very easily.
Sit aside to cool .
While they are cooling in a pan on the stove .
Add 3Tbs Mollasses
1/2 cup brown sugar (i prefer dark but you can use light if you like)
1 Stick Butter
Melt all together until it forms a Syrup
Can also add a tsp of Cinnomin to it if you like . (i do)
The take your sweet potaoes and drain them . Peeling the skin off and discarding. The Skin will almost fall off .
Take your potatoes and Slice them long ways about a 1/4 inch thick. Per potaoe it should make 4 or 5 Thin cut strips.
Place 1 layer of pot. in your baking dish . pour on your syrup you made then add raisins . Then another layer of potatoes keep goin until you fill your pan or use up all the ingrediants.
Bake for about 25 mins at 350 take out Put on marshmellows to cover the entire dish . until u cant see any of the potatoes underneath . then bake for another 5 to 10 mins keeping a close eye on the marshmellows when they are golden brown your done . Enjoy. 1 helpful hint is to put a cookie sheet under your baking dish so the marshmellows wont bubble and drip out over the side. and make a mess

2nd Recipe is to Take your Pots. Slice them in half long ways . Will look like a half of a baked potatoe. Wrap in Aluminum Foil bake for 1 hour at 450. when done open them up put 3 slices of butter and some brown sugar on top with a few marshmellows put the pots. back in a baking serving dish in the oven until the marshmellows are brown . Enjoy, and i hope this helps
