it depends on how responsible your child is. if u think your child can understand how to take care of them and keep germs off of it, than go for it. maybe they have special ones made for children.

If she's active contacts (with the bonus of peripheral vision) would probably help a lot.
Contacts these days are much more comfortable and easier to care for than they were when I first got them 10 years ago...and I must admit it did help my self-esteem quite a bit to stop wearing the specs to school.
Anyway, most doctors are willing to give a free trail with contacts where you can see if she's ready to handle the cleaning and caring of them. I think it's certainly worth a test run to see how it goes.

The biggest problem with wearing contacts (other than the obvious part of hygeine) is getting dust in them. It seriously feels like a boulder in your eye. If it would happen while she was playing, the best that she could do would be to close the affected eye and keep going, but it stings and your eye waters like crazy. I think she'd be better off with glasses. Ask your optometrist for his/her opinion.

I would ask yourself if she's responsible enough to handle having and wearing them first. Safety over vanity is more important!
If you're still having to remind her to brush her teeth or wash her face, I would say she's not ready for the responsibility and care required of wearing contacts.

I stared wearing contacts at ten years previous and became no longer an extremely in charge newborn in any respect. inspite of the undeniable fact that it helped me grow to be extra in charge....I had no hassle wearing contacts then and that i nonetheless dont to at present time and that i'm now twenty.

I wouldn't recommend it, unless she happens to be very responsible. If she's not used to them, she might lose them or get dirt in them and not know what to do; especially in a sports game.
