ok...i like this guy...hes a senior in high school...and im a freshman in high school also...we are friends...we talk and flirt on the internet all the time...im debating on asking him to my winter formal...i just dont know if he likes me...or if he will just say no...his g/f just recently broke up w/ him...like on sat. night...his ex is like sorta my friend...i didnt start liking him until sunday...is that bad to like him??...will this mess up our friendship??...what do i do??

well....if u really do like him, ask him out dont wait till he comes around or worse...someone beats u to the punchline! :( so i say go for it, and if he does say no still continue to talk to him and"flirt"cause that shoes u arent SOOOOOOOOOO depreset over this little "no" and it will show u still wanna be friends

Wowee - I got into so much trouble for asking the freind of an ex girl freind out. (the 2nd said she wasn't interested)
The upside of it is that we all three are still on good freindly terms. (after a few apologies and groveling)
The other upside of it is that I have no regrets for having never tried.
Yes, she said no - but at least now I can say I tried - and use that experience to tell you to go for it... unless his ex girlfreind is crazier than an out house rat... that might be a show stopper ;-)
Another less appealing but more honest option is to ask your friend how she woud feel about it.
The bottom line is - are you willing to risk her friendship on the 'chance' he could say yes. Who is more important to you. (Cuteness aside)

oh my god i have a really similar problem. My winter dance is coming up but the guy i like is a freshman like me. He just broke up and i can't tell if he likes me or if he'll understand i want to go as friends. I think you should just casually ask him as friends for now. Or ask if he wants to go with someone. then you know if he would want to go with you.

it may mess up your friendship with his ex, give it a week so you dont look like the other woman he left her for, or maybe two weeks. let some other girl take the verbal abuse and other garbage. Just be friends and see where it leads... Zed

How long did they go out? Does he still have feelings for her, because if you do go out with him and he still has feelings for her, he may go back to her. Did he LOVE her? Love takes a long time to get over...
