Considering the way Mary is portrayed and written about, I seriously doubt she would have even considered it. She was WAY holier than I am, and I wouldn't consider having an abortion. I am not against others having the choice, but I personally wouldn't be able to live with myself! And I'm not nearly the woman Mary was/is.

Violet, even Jesus knew that it was the right thing to do. In fact the Bible even tells us that Jesus knew that there was no way around his dying because the sin needed to be paid for. He was acknowledging that there was no other way for the sin of the world to be paid for than by His precious blood. So what you're saying is that God is a sadist just because He did what He had to do to make sure that all of us have the opportunity to get to Heaven.

No. I'm not even sure that women would have considered it at all. They probably didn't even know it was possible for them to kill their own baby. I'm also assuming that if they would have known, there would have been absolutely no safe way to it, and most likely the woman would have died. But, I doubt Mary even knew that was possible. She probably didn't even have time to think about it - she was more concerned with being stoned to death or divorced.

There are many times I wish she would have -- then perhaps we wouldn't have all these hypocritical christians running around.
Ah, but I guess that's wishful thinking...weak-minded people always need to find somebody to tell them what to do, so if jesus hadn't been around they would have found somebody else to make up divine stories about and pretend to worship. Sigh.
