I have a few teeth with silver fillings, and bit into a piece of aluminum foil that was stuck to a hamburger patty. ( did not see that one coming) I bit into it, and it sent me through the roof. Has anybody expirence this before? Its like sticking your tongue to a square battery ( not sure the size, with the 2 bumps on one end)

The second type of discomfort is a very sharp shock that appears only when your teeth touch. This is called galvanic shock and is caused by two metals (one in the newly filled tooth and one in the tooth it's touching) producing an electric current in your mouth. This would happen, for example, if you had a new amalgam filling in a bottom tooth and had a gold crown in the tooth above it.

JUST a PIECE of aluminum foil? Ha, your name is coca cola, try this one : I had this strange facination with chewing on the bitten off coke tabs on my empty can and then spitting them back into the can when it was completely mangled, but one time my grandpa hit a bump in his truck and I swallowed the enitre piece of jagged metal. I hope thats not still floating around in me but im still alive, so no it cant be BAD for ya, but not as good as vitamin c.

I have heard of this with straight aluminum foil, like balling it up and biting down on it, but I didn't think it would happen with a hamburger wrapper. A hamburger wrapper is so thin, but it does have foil, so I guess anything's possible. That's pretty crazy! I'm glad I have the porcelain fillings or whatever the white ones are!!

Oh what a feeling.....a 9volt battery and foil.
It's great for those slow days.
