Love is a very strange thing......... deeper than purely emotion ......not always as "pure" as a gift from God.......

It surely has a bonding effect between two people IF it is shared .....and if it is only one-sided it can feel MIGHTY lonely and disillusioning ......... VERY confusing.

I've looked at it from the spiritual side and the biological side..... the social/family side and the more "poetic" side....... it's big and broad ........hard to pin down.

I am, personally, mystified by it.

I like it and yearn for it........... but I am usually quite disoriented as I find myself trying to actually DEAL with it and fathom it.

Lately....... I'm really trying to just RELAX into it....... and let it "take me".

I've been MANY places that Love has taken me before...... yet each time is sooooooooooo different.

I've watched Love die in a high-school argument........... I've held my Beloved for hours while her body was dieing ......yet love re-visits me and still lives within me.

I've watched it spring from ashes like a Phoenix .........and also like a wildflower in a fertile field.

I've seen it in my 4 year old niece's eyes and heard it in her laughter .........and I've seen it between very old and wrinkled couples ravaged by everything else life could throw at them.

The most thoughtful and intelligent and wise answer I can give to your question is this........

Go find it ........hold it (not too tightly) ........and enjoy its blessings.

Share it.

Imagine it.

Be open to it.

Don't ignore it.

I once heard love defined as "the misconception that one girl is different from another". Funny, but clearly written by a jaded man.

Love is willful sacrifice for another. Often accomponied by relentless grinning for no explicable reason.

This is a complicated question, but i guess love is when to people feel they need to be together in order to make it through life.
