drinking booz, yeah its ok. getting drunk, not so much. the bible says not to indulge. why? because you act like an idiot when you are drunk. this damages your witness as a christian. to drink occasionally without getting drunk is looked down upon just because the connotation of drinking and acting like an idiot is apparent. why would jesus turn the water into wine instead of grape juice? so it is ok to drink as long as you dont get drunk, or you can be like me and work up such a tolerance that you can't get drunk without depleting your bank account.

Though a Christian may, with moderation, drink acohol, what is the point? A Christian may not, however, get drunk.

Ephesians 5:18 NIV
Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

God bless!

I talked about this with a friend once. To our knowledge, the only verse that really said anything about drinking was that verse in Galations, and it condemned drunkenness. So, I guess if you believe in the Bible literally, then you really shouldn't get drunk. I guess you could still throw back a few every now and then, though.

But...if you look at the verse closely, you see that it really condemns drunkyards. And what are drunkyards? People who get drunk ALL THE TIME. Hmmm....

No, it isn't okay. I believe it's okay to have a small sip of wine every now and hen, but nowhere near the amount that will cause you to get drunk! It's NOT okay at all to get drunk! It makes you act very foolish and sin in ways you never would've sinned if you weren't drunk.

May need to read your Bible a bit more.. there is no restriction of drinking but everything in moderation.. including eating and anxieties. Drunkenness is a total loss of self control..and no one ever said it was fun.

Absolutely, but you have to drink a lot to make sure you are out cold. This way, you won't be semi awake to commit sins.
