My roommate is in the illinois national guard and about five months ago got released from a 16 month tour in iraq. he has had trouble finding work, so he had to go to school to get paid by the federal government just to get by, financial aid denied him claiming that he made too much money in iraq, and now the state is denying him unemployment and job placement because he goes to school. unemployment is at an all time low in illinois, so jobs are scarce. do you know of any sites that could help him appeal this or does anyone have advice that could help.

Yes! Here in Michigan Veterans have a hard time getting jobs due to most Americans being against the war in Iraq. However, The American Legion goes to bat for the Veteran so I would start there. They give 100% help to the Veterans.
