My fiancee and I are having an indoor, evening wedding, and I would like to wear a black wedding dress with white accents. I was thinking of wearing this one:

I would have a white bouquet and white flowers in my hair. I'm just wondering if it would be too dark, and if I do go with black, what would my bridesmaid wear (I'm only having one bridesmaid to keep the wedding small)?

Wear whatever makes you happy. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of it.
Sarah Jessica Parker got married in a black dress and you don't see anyone complaining about her doing so being utterly scandalous beyond description. Because it's not.
Also, if black was so taboo, why is it acceptable and expected for the guys to wear black? Or why are black bridesmaid dresses so common? Or why is the "little black dresses that every woman should own" the epitome of class at a formal event? Why should a bride not be allowed to wear black if she chooses without getting shredded to bits by people who won't even be attending her wedding in the first place?
Let your maid/matron of honor wear a black or black & white dress of her choosing.
If someone has difficulty picking you out of the crowd, then they don't have any business attending. In the end, your opinion is the only one that matters. Good luck

I think it is beautiful!!! You could have your bridesmaid were black as well - or they could even wear white. Either way, I would suggest a tea length gown in only one color (all white, all black, etc) for your bridesmaid so that it helps to make you stand out a little more:)

I wore black in mine--but mine was just an informal chapel wedding. Black actually looks striking with a white veil. Needless to say, why join the bandwagon?!? It's your wedding, wear what you want and have fun!

It's very pretty. I love Ann Taylor. Your bridesmaid should not wear white, but not black either (never the same color as the bride). How about a nice contrast like red or soft pink.

I think the dress is gorgeous!!! I think, though, that it is more suited for your bridesmaid. If you still decide to go this route, then put your bridesmaid in a white dress with a black accent sash. It will be different and unique since it is supposed to be the opposite!!

Laura Ingalls Wilder was married in a black dress. (The author of the Little House in the Prairie books.) Just a bit of trivia for you.
I think your wedding plans sound pretty and unique. Your bridesmaid dress could be almost any jewel tone color.

This dress is beautiful!! You might want to add a touch of yellow to your flowers, then the bridesmaid could wear a yellow or cream color The three colors will be just wonderful. These colors should make great pictures also.

My wife wore a black wedding dress, and boy did she look hot. The dress that you are choosing looks very nice, I think the strapless is a nice touch.

I think the dress is pretty. However if it was me I wouldn't wear it for a wedding. But it really is your wedding. So you should have you bridesmaid wear whatever color dress but strapless also.
Happy wedding!
