No. Mom or grandma's old ring would be okay...but I'd rather have a ring from a pawn shop (that belonged to some OTHER couple) than from one of my guy's failed relationships.
Even thinking about giving your present girlfriend (or boyfriend) something you'd bought for your ex, is tacky and thoughtless.

No because he has given them rings and then they have broken up. I'd rather not receive a ring and stay with him. Plus you don't want to be compared or put in the same category as them.

What is he an environmentalist? He even recycles his used jewlery? NO, I would not. First, he bought it for some else, while thinking of someone else, because he probably loved that someone else, not for you. Second, it's probably some of kind of bad karma or it's cursed. How nice it was of her to give it back though, I would have sold it, LOL.
