yes - even a child has rights -- you too had the right not to have sex. I feel for the child here -- to have a biological father who doesn't want him/her. Put yourself in the shoes of this child - and do some heavy reflection - you may not like what you see.
as said by another answerer - you play you pay.... oh and for the guy leaving it all to the woman -- many women are allergic to "the pill", and the shots and such.....the responsibility is equal between the participants and should not ever be considered one sided.....

I'm probably on the minority here but I say NO. If we as a couple accidental get pregnant and his opinion on the topic is NOT to keep the baby but I CHOOSE to keep the child why should he have to pay for the rest of his life for something I chose to do.
I am actually living this scenario. I did get pregnant to a man I very much loved but once we discussed what we would do, he DIDN'T want to have a child. He was so against us having a child as we were still so young, we weren't ready, we weren't at that stage in our relationship but I still CHOSE to keep the baby. this was MY choose.
I don't see him anymore and as he wished he doesn't see either of us anymore. He should NOT have to pay a cent for this darling baby as I took on all the responsibility knowing how he felt.
I have not and never will ask him for money.
If you make a choice that someone else doesn't agree with then the responsibility is yours and yours alone.
You know how NOT to get pregnant as well and you know what options are out there.

This is a touchy subject but here it goes.If there is an understanding between both people in a relationship from the beginning that they don't want kids then no men shouldn't have to pay but if nothing is discussed then yes they helped make them. And also I knew this women who had 8 miscarriages and was trying to get pregnant again and then took advantage of a totally drunk and stoned out of his mind guy and got pregnant and was able to carry to term he should have no responsibility after all he wouldn't have slept with her if he'd been in his right mind.

We screw men in so many ways... and that is one of them. We get pregnant and they say have a abortion. We choose to keep the baby, but he clearly is aware he cannot support it. However, it takes two... both should take the responsibility to prevent an unwanted pregnancy. No man should take a woman's word she is on the pill. He should take all measures to prevent it from happening by using protection himself. Even if they are in a long term relationship... the bottom line is he is not ready, so do something about it. Since it is his responsibility to take all measures to prevent it, then yes he should pay... it is not fair to the child/children.... they are innocent. They did not ask to be born to suffer.

Why should he? If a mother wants an abortion she gets it. The father has no say either way. The woman has all the power here and there should be some equity. If the man wants to give up all his rights he should not have to pay for the next 18 years. The woman had just as much if not more ability to use contraceptive as the man. The woman has a multitude of options, the man has the condom. (I bet I get a lot of hate mail on this one! )
And of course any child should be wanted. It's a tragedy when a baby comes into this world as an accident but that is reality. Accidents happen but they happen less when a woman takes responsibility for their own actions and learns to say no and mean it or have protection.

Reality is...if you want to dance then you have to pay the band.
For the guys that say "mistakes happen", a child being born is no way a mistake. If you believe that then you screw the kid up. And no a woman doesn't have all the power. If a man was willing to stand up and take responsibility for his actions then there wouldn't be abortions.

If the dad is the biological father and doesn't know how to use or refuses to use a condom, whether he trusted the wifes pill or not... damn rights!
I swear - questions like this make me cry.
Are we trying to screw the mother over, or are we trying to send the kid the message that he/she is not wanted.
Does anyone have any questions now with regards to why this country is so buggered up?
The dad has a responsibility whether he likes it or not - it's time those dads suck it up!

There are three people involved, only one is innocent- so who bears the responsibility out of the three? It should be the two adults who brought the innocent one into the world. TWO- not just one of them- TWO of them. Force? What? you mean there are Dads out there who have to be forced to take financial responsibility in the life of a child who they made??!! I am in shock.
