More than 700 Iraqis die in last eight days of unrelenting violence

November 20, 2006
BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - The numbers are staggering: In the past eight days, 714 Iraqis have fallen victim to the country's sectarian bloodbath. They've been beheaded, tortured and blown up while looking for work. They've been shot, kidnapped and felled by mortars. Bush says it is getting better.

. Iraq's death toll has reached at least 1,319 already in November, well above the 1,216 who died in all of October, which was the deadliest month in Iraq since The Associated Press began tracking the figure in April 2005.

At least 111 people were killed nationwide on Sunday, following a week of appallingly high daily death tolls: The USA can't stop the killings but Mr Bush and his followers state everything is going as planned.

Well, we know better now that Kissinger and Blair said yesterday that the Iraq war cannot be won. Sadly, Saddam was the right man for the job. We need to find another like him but nicer to the u.s. or just put saddam back in. Only a dictator can control those sectarian fools. And we would love to do it but that would not be PC. Well, I volunteer yourself Mr. Erudite, I think you could do the job. Anyone else here nominate Mr,. E?

Every day new bodies are found. Often, they have been tortured and killed.

The different factions are killing each other in alarming numbers - people are segregating and gathering with their own groups to assure their safety as best they can. Add to that, the terrorists are killing indiscriminately anyone who they feel is remotely aiding or supporting the newly formed democratic government.

The sectarian violence is just another aspect of why this war is so damned complex and difficult.

Anyone who expects that centuries of hatred and murder between these factions will be brushed under the rug in just a few years of military and humanitarian aid is delusional.
Still, a victory over the Islamic terrorists and their demented ideology is absolutely necessary if we are to prevent further events such as 9/11.

Incidentally, I don't recall "Mr. Bush and his followers" ever stating that "everything is going as planned." That's a ridiculous statement propagated by anti-war fanatics along with all the other far left media rhetoric.

Another fabricated article by the habitual liar named erudite... how pathetic

Cited in my source section is the ACTUAL article... without the fabrications added....

The fabrications are:
"Bush says it is getting better."
"At least 111 people were killed nationwide on Sunday, following a week of appallingly high daily death tolls: The USA can't stop the killings but Mr Bush and his followers state everything is going as planned."

Again, against copyright law, altering an article.... you are exposed yet AGAIN, erudite

it relatively is glaring which you're very youthful. you may desire to make the attempt to evaluation all the small print. Saddam used nerve gas on Iraqi Kurds. Saddam and his sadistic sons had people coated up and shot. that they had them positioned with the aid of timber-chippers. that they had them tortured. that they had everybody who opposed them murdered, alongside with their families. that they had people maimed--hands, hands, etc. amputated. Saddam and his mentally sick sons abused the people of Iraq in each way. Uday/Qusay picked females from his college instructions to rape. Which of those vile issues do you say that Bush has performed? who's blowing up Iraqis? Their fellow countrymen are doing it--with encouragement from the Iranis. you won't be in a position to lay that at Bush's doorstep. submit to in thoughts, as your analyzing instructor has informed you for years--information rely.

They died because the terrorists are trying to force them to give up the democracy they voted into place.

In case you haven't noticed it is the people we are fighting who are massacring the Iraqi civilians. Everybody who thinks we should pull out is advocating leaving 23 million Iraqis to suffer at the hands of these thugs.

Why ask, are you willing to accept the truth? Is the reporter being objetive? sounds to me like he's/she is biased. Read the last sentence; does it sound objective or opinionated? sounds very opinionated and left wing to me.
