Comment on the challenges and prospects of past and future efforts to increase food production.?

We have a surplus now.One place the world comes up short is in Africa.In the 1950's they were exporting food.Central planing changed all of that for the worse as we all know.For some reason artist have always supported central planing.Now the One group want to try some more of it.It kills people.Ask The Jews and,Russians.When will they learn?.

Increasing food production is a big challange. Even today around 25% of world population does not get enough to eat and face malnutrition and children die due to hunger.

With chemical fertilisers, insecticides and pesticides world food production went up consedrebly but world population increased a lot and climatic changes started creating havoc. The illefect of chemical inputs also started showing up soon.

Most of farm land is not being utilised fully and only one crop is being taken instead of two and this one crop is also rainfed.

The best way of increasing food production is to go in for organic methods which are safe to a big extent and using farm land to the fullest. We need to increase our irrigation capacity and utilised the farm land for atleast double croping. This will not only induse sustainable use and production of land and grains but also solve our food problem a lot.
