I was cursed with an excellent sense of smell so I had no choice but to be a sniffer. The pee ones however, had to be checked. Great question btw...its one of those that most won't talk about unless there is 2pts involved, lol.

I firmly believe in the sniffing method. My mother in-law is a poker and I have seen her with a nasty brown finger on many occasions. sking me in all urgency for a wet one. YUKKY
That will cause anyone to be a sniffer rather than a poker.

Im a peaker! I pull the diaper out in the back and check to see if there is any poopy! haha! I have gotten some on my finger a few times! but, don't really like the smell technique or the poke one either. Poor kids! lol!

I do both but I don't feel inside the diaper and sometimes I can tell by the size of the diaper lol

I was a sniffer and a peeker, Son is potty trained now..so proud.

LOL...I always change the diaper if there is ANY doubt. No sniffin or pokin'...just a changin'.

I feel first (for pee) and I sniff... sometimes if I am unsure I peek.
I never stick a finger in.
