When parents started getting upset that Johhny and Susie got bad grades even though they are "good kids" who "try hard". Why bother teaching when the parents are going to freak out on the teacher if the kid fails; might as well just pass the little buggers.

I for one have always told the teachers to grade my son properly, if that means fail, then he fails. But he doesn't fail. 91 average last semester.

I have a nine year old who attends public school; 4th grade. He brings home his spelling words every week.
