That is a very good question.

Food supply is not at all adequate today and with time and climatic changes there are chances this will further go down. We can take many steps for ensuring adequate and healthy food supply some are given hereunder.

Land use: Even today most of farm land is being utilised for only one crop and are rain fed. We need to improve our use of available farm land by taking atleast two crops every year.

Irrigation: Most of farming is dependent on rains and so being used for one crop only. We need to increase our irrigation facilities urgently. Here we need to remember that irrigation facilities should depend not on underground water but by saving rain water in bunds, lakes or like.

Organic farming: Organic farming is a very important thing and we need to use its principals for our need of food produce. This ensures quality grains with less or nil harmful chemical resides and certainly is good for our health.

Stop all use of Chemical inputs unless very much required. They are not harmful fou our farms only but traces of chemicals, pesticides and insecticides are harmful for us also.

If we live with principals of sustainable living I am sure we will never have any problem with quality and quantity of food.
