We always start out the day with a veggie tray out. That way we arent tempted to pick at the fattening dinner food while cooking. Then there is turkey, mashed potatoes (we had really good ones once made from Yukon gold potatoes) gravy, and stuffing but we add dried, sweetened cranberries, since none of us like cranberry sauce and it is SO good. Then we take and cook some canned corn or something, and throw in whatevers left from the veggie tray. For dessert we often get a cheesecake, and make brittle out of toasted almonds and more dried cranberries, or just cook the almonds with brown sugar on the stove. And a little while later (we eat Christmas dinner early) we have made some cookies, and we decorate them.
I had divorced parents, and so I usually went to my Dads celebration Christmas Eve, and they had a whole big dinner. Christmas day I was at my moms, and that is the tradition I just described. It was fun to have different holiday recipes to learn for my own parties I have now. But I make more of my moms recipes I think

Turkey, Ham, Mac and cheese, stuffing, pies, mash potatoes, greens, biscuits, and someone always brings some casserole. Special memories about Christmas is always family activities after dinner. Like a playing football and watching the NBA game every year.

we do not have dinner, we've a champagne brunch with kinfolk and some friends! After a lot turkey at Thanksgiving, all of us keen to do something diverse. We eat round 12:00 or 12:30 so everybody has Christmas morning with their personal households, then we meet at my mum and dad (they have a valuable room with musical instruments). Cranberry Juice, clean fruit salad, sausage and egg casserole, shrimp creole, hand-crafted cinnamon bread and sweet potato cakes, and clearly, a touch champagne (clean grape juice for those underage). Then we sing Christmas carols round my moms organ. She performs that or the bass (both mess round and guitar) and my dad performs drums and we sing and sing and sing. Then we take a walk if the elements's valuable and are available decrease back to espresso and cakes galore! Oh what an afternoon! Oh what interesting!
