You do have to be 18 to sign a contract, or you need parental concent. Your local dmv has the forms. But the real question is at 16 im sure you dont have any credit. It makes no sense to cosign for somebody. To be a cosigner you have to not have bad credit but good credit. No credit is neither good or bad.
