We adopted a cat that the humane society had named "Fanbelt" as he had been caught in the engine compartment of a car. Somehow, that just didn't fit and we changed the name to Speedboat. Not too crazy or silly. We had a cat a long time ago named "Hitchcock" because he had been run over by a car and had a "hitch" in his git-along and....well, we won't get into the rest of it, but the name fit.

Well, my family makes fun of the name I gave to my new kitten. Her name is Sophie Lilac. I think it's eccentric, but in a cool way. Don't you think that's part of the fun of naming a pet...you can give it a name that you probably wouldn't name a human!
Oh yeah & my 20 year old kittty who just passed away had a really cool name: Chopper Bates. I just loved his name, but I can't take credit for it , that was his name when I adopted him. I guess I like a cat to have 2 names!

My friend's parents really enjoy a good drink now and again. Unfortunately for all concerned, the next door neighbours are a bit on the - shall we say... reserved side.
When my buddy's mom decided to get a cat, she got two so they could keep each other company. The cats are named "Whoopee!" and "Party!".
The neighbours live in a constant state of nerves. *grin*

You know the silly or crazy names are human names for a cat that I can't stand.
I just can't stand it when someone names their cat, Mary, James, Sidney, Jack, or anything to do with human names.
My boss even named her puppy, Lucy. Oh Ugh!

"Hermelinda, linda" I am no kidding! It was the name of the 5th cat we had in my house when I was little. She was very slim, almost white except on her forehead had a little black spot and one of her eyes was blue and the other green-brown. She was very good catching rats and I mean big ones!

well my younger cat is named Kilala (the cat demon from the japanese anime Inuyasha ^_^). But my cats really don't care for names. They just care for the sound of cat food.

Ratsmile Ferdinand
He was a blue point Siamese and my ex-husband said he looked similar to a rat. Ferdinand became his middle name because he loved smelling roses and pine trees like Ferdinand the bull.
