It depends a lot on your hair, the products your hairdresser uses and how well you care for your hair after the services. Since you are straightening your hair and not adding curl it may be a little easier. You don't mention if you are going to a professional or doing the work at home. I strongly recommend having the same person do all the work, and in a salon. Regardless of what all the kitchen beauticians out there swear they can do, it's doubtful you'll have hair that can be combed if you do it yourself. If you don't go to the same hairdresser for the perm and the color, make sure each one knows of your plans. Color generally lifts quicker on previously chemically treated hair, straightened hair especially. Be sure to ask your stylist about color additives and protein treatments that can be applied during the chemical processes and be sure to get recommendations for at home care. I have several clients who perm and color on the same day but most of them say that I'm the only who hasn't "fried" their hair so be sure and go to a stylist with some experience. Good luck.

Perm then color...wait at least a week. Hope you have a trusted hair stylist. I used to have a spiral perm and I loved it... then I was in a different town and had to go to someone new and she made me look like a poodle. She fried my hair so bad it broke like crazy!

Perms and coloring dont click! you should perm your hair first and wait for about a week, this is if you dont want your hair to fall off! and if you can't wait to get it colored why dont you get a wash and set and permanetly dye your hair. once you done dat then u can perm your hair, i believe that it won't be damaged, if its done like that. if u have any other hair quest email me, i do hair so I understand. * Good Luck with trying.

Be very careful with relaxing and coloring... too many chemicals is damaging to your hair. If you need to keep up your hair color, try to color at least 3 weeks after relaxing your hair. Use a penetrating deep conditioner on your hair and leave on for 15-20 minutes and sit under a dryer. Or try using a mask once a week.

Your best bet would be to get your hair colored a day or two before the perm, then get the perm. They have perm solutions for colored treated hair. It may save some major damage to your hair.

After straightening - wait at least a week - then maybe highlight - but it will very much dry out the hair.
