I'm almost 13, and i need braces for complex issues...(spacing, front teeth stick out, crooked teeth on the bottom...Would you think that invisalign braces would give me a good result? I'm afraid to get lingual braces....but lingual or invisalign which one works faster and better with my problems?

Oh yea i hate the braces that show i really care about looks and stuff....

ok i have braces and my friend tried invisalign. I still have my braces and ive had them for almost a year in a half and i get them off in January. My friend however used invisalign and it made her teeth worse so she now has to have surgery and will still end up with braces. invisalign is too expensive. Braces arent that bad and if your parents can afford it, you can get the clear ones. there not the end of the world, and there not permenant, however bad teeth are.

The muscles that hold your teeth into place are weak and do not have very good memory. For this reason, when you get braces (any kind) it only takes about 1-2 months for your teeth to actually straighten to the desired "straightness." The problem is that dentists will have to leave the braces on for a few years so that the muscles that hold your newly positioned teeth into their new positions can remember their new homes. The good thing about invisalign is that after a few months your teeth will start looking great. The problem is...if you don't wear them EXACTLY like you are supposed to, your teeth will go right back to where they were and you will be out a lot of cash and right back at square one. Lingual braces aren't as "cute"...but they are pretty much a sure thing. I hope this makes sense to you. I tried to explain it in 13 lingo. For more information, try yahooligans.

Your teeth will be straightened in little or no time. It's amazing how a few rubber bands and a little bit of pulling pressure will put those teeth of yours in perfect allignment. I had it done very late in life (in my 50's) when it's more difficult, but based on what I can remember of it, my teeth were in allignment in just a few days. I know is was less than a week.

The braces were in longer though. The idea behind the braces is to hold your teeth in their new position long enough for them not to remember their old position and want to stay in their new position. So, it takes a while. I too preferred braces that didn't stand out, but many people want flashy ones in a rainbow of colors. To each their own.

After a while, you'll be able to have the braces removed and start wearing retainers. Retainers are plastic and wire things that are used to hold your teeth in place with less rigidity than braces. Eventually, you'll get to sport your new look all day long without retainers. That is, you'll reach a point where you need them only at night while you are sleeping. This will help prevent your putting undue pressure on your teeth while you are sleeping. Not protecting your teeth at that time could over time cause them to get out of alignment again. Wearing a retainer at night is not a big deal, and you can forget to do it some nights without any worry.

Inother words, your teeth will look great all day long, and you'll protect that nice look at night by wearing retainers while you sleep.

Ok, first off. It doesn’t matter whether you have braces or not. You can still be an attractive person with braces. In fact, most people in America have to have braces when they are teenagers. Invisaline braces will take longer to straighten your teeth then regular braces. So it really depends on what your biggest motivator is, would you rather it take longer and not have braces showing, or would you rather it take a shorter amount of time and have braces? That is up to you.

Your parents need to get you to an orthodontist as soon as possible. You should already have braces on your teeth. If you care about looks, you'll want the braces off before you're out of high school. Good luck and talk to your parents.

from ym experience, regular metal brackets worked the best for me, with invisalign, your teeth tend to shift and then it starts to hurt your teeth when you put in the invislign

talk to your dentist. invisaline will probably work but it costs more than regular braces and if you have serious enough problems then you might need regular braces

you need to talk to your parents and see what THEY can afford / and what is covered by insurance
If invisalign not covered by insurance - can YOU afford the cost

Whether you get one or the other is not a decision you will be making. It will be determined by your situation, not your personal preference.
