You should have kept the ring with you and gave the receptionist your phone number for any claiment to call to identify it.

The finder's keeper law depends on where you live. The one year period is long enough and you can file your claim to get the diamond ring.

I would be surprised if they still have it (depending on the club). Usually if you hand in lost property to the police you can keep it if no one else claims withing about 2 months.

Phone them up and ask
