You should have kept the ring with you and gave the receptionist your phone number for any claiment to call to identify it.
You're out of luck now.

The finder's keeper law depends on where you live. The one year period is long enough and you can file your claim to get the diamond ring.

I would be surprised if they still have it (depending on the club). Usually if you hand in lost property to the police you can keep it if no one else claims withing about 2 months.
Phone them up and ask

you can't claim it now. The reception already did. I would've kept my mouth shut if you wanted it.

I think that you are out of luck. after a year that ring is nowhere in sight. At least where you will ever see it.
