I am one of the lucky ones who can say I dont really have any skin problems. But, this morning when I woke up I found that I have a big red spot on my forehead. Its tender and Im assuming within a day or two it will develop into a pimple but Im wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how I can get rid of it. Since my face is already pretty clear and its almost smack dab in the middle of my forehead it's really noticeable. I've heard of using toothpaste before but Ive also heard mixed reviews about if it works or not. And is it wise to use a foundation to cover it up or will that make it worse.

Any suggestions or advice would be really helpful, thanks a lot.

Home remedies can be a good alternative to expensive medicated acne treatments. Very little scientific research has been conducted into these treatments, but many acne sufferers have reported a certain amount of success. Results aren't usually as rapid as those achieved from medicated treatments but they do tend to have fewer side effects.

Distilled white vinegar:
Firstly, wash your face with mild soap and then rinse well. Apply vinegar to the face with a cotton ball and let it sit for ten minutes and then rinse with cold water. If you have sensitive skin, you might want to dilute the vinegar with some water as it can be quite strong on the skin.

Natural exfoliates:
Tomato, lemon or any citric fruit make great natural exfoliates. They work as a natural sloughing treatment, removing dead skin cells from clogged pores. Firstly, wash your face and then rinse. Squeeze a lemon or citrus fruit into a bowl and soak a cotton ball in the juice. Apply the lemon juice to the face and then leave for 10 minutes before rinsing with cool water. The lemon juice may make your face feel like it is burning or tingling so if you have sensitive skin you might want to dilute the juice with some water.

Egg yolk mask:
Beat one egg white and then apply liberally with a cotton ball. Leave the yolk on the face for approx 15 minutes so it dries and feels tight and then rinse off with cold water. Egg yolks contain a large amount of protein and fatty acids which can replenish the skin and tighten the pores.

Honey oatmeal mask: (Ideal for oily skin)
Mix honey (preferably manuka honey) with oatmeal into a paste and then apply to the skin. Leave for approx 15 minutes so the oatmeal absorbs the oil of your skin.

Ice Cubes: (Great for pimple prevention)
This only works for pimples that haven’t actually surfaced yet. If you feel a pimple forming underneath the surface of the skin, take an ice cube and wrap it in plastic wrap and place it on the affected area. Hold it there for several minutes and try to repeat this several more times during the day.

Steam Facial:
Put a kettle full of freshly boiled water into a basin and add a couple of drops of tea tree oil. Cover you head with a towel and steam your face over the basin for five minutes. When you have finished, splash your face with cold water, to help close the pores again.

i know your delimma. I thnak everyday for blessing me with clear skin. but i do get pimples to once in a while.

My daily regimen is to use St. Yves Apricot scrub so that all the dirt and grime will be washed away from my face. i use it when i shower in the morning and at night.

After my morning shower i use St. Yves cream regeneratrice. it's like my mosturizer that regenerates the cells in your face.

After bathing at night, i use Panoxyl. It has benzoyl peroxide. Since it's main ingrediet is oxygen it cleans your pores deep down. and when you have pimples it dries the pimple up so that it won't become a full blown zit. you have to use this for a couple of days to cure the zit. don't worry about the black spot where the pimple used to be, it would naturally come off.

use neutrogena's rapid clear zit gel with salycilic acid. ur pimple should be gone in less than 8 hours.

or try clean and clear advantage spot gel that should do the same cuz it contains the same amount of acne medication.

if u use a foundation or concealer to cover it up, make sure that u only cover up the spot (um... hehe obviously). and make sure that it is medicated with salycilic acid so that it doesn't clog ur pores and make the pimple bigger and worse. try pure.concealer that contains acne medication. or look at neutrogena healthy skin foundations and concealers.

both are usually $4.99 at drugstores, target, walmart, etc. and u should keep it in ur cabinet for days like this. :]

once you feel a pimple coming on, start bringing all the facial products in. its better to cure it before it forms. personally, i dont like using toothpaste because it makes my skin feel weird afterwards. wash it ever so often with warm water. wash it as much times as you can, and avoid touching it. im sure it will be gone within a day or so, or minimize drastically.

Go to your local drugstore and purchase an acne product called on-the-spot. It will get rid of your pimple overnight...I use it and have clear skin...yet oily skin. Or use Netrugena products...just browse around in your store to find a product that says it will prevent your skin from breaking out. :D

if you can leave the house, go to the skincare section or walmart or something. they'll have on the spot acne treatments like this one.

but i personally think toothpaste would work if you dont want to leave the house.
