What's the cheapest and best way to do this? I need to move from Atlanta, Ga. to NH at the end of spring. I'm taking my dog and I do not want her to fly cargo. I don't have much stuff, but I want to move a few things like clothes, paintings and a few furniture pieces. Someone told me that it cost her $3000.00 to make the same move. That is ridiculous!!! Does anyone have any idea about how much it would be to drive up there with some stuff and my dog? And should I rent a U-Haul or what? I was hoping it would only be a few hundred dollars...Thanks.

You might want to look at getting a POD, if you can drive your dog there on your own. PODs are great! They drop the small storage unit at your place, you pack it, then pick it up and deliver it where it needs to go, or they can store it for a bit. It's a little cheaper than having a moving company come in.

The cheapest way would be Uhaul (a few hundred dollars for 5 day rentals). But dpending on if you are driving alone or not it could be tricky. You can get the truck, or trailer if your vehicle can tow. Or you can get the truck and tow your car.

Good luck!!
