I love the Christmas season! The carols, the window shopping (I never buy very much) the movies, the cocoa, the cookies, flannel pajamas, the cooking and the anticipation of the day..
but when the day arrives I always read the scripture out of Matthew early that morning with my very small family. We spend the day lazily. A few years we went to church, but amazingly it was pretty empty and the service seemed a rushed affair. People's hearts didn't seem to be there. So now, we stay home. Sitting in our pajamas well after breakfast sipping coffee, nibbling walnuts and fruits. We usually exchange just a single gift. It is not about greed in my house. We enjoy being together. We dress for dinner and then we watch a Christmas movie. It is a wonderful day to just be close. Just us. Thanking God for the blessing of each other and his gift to us all in Christ Jesus.
Thanks for asking.
Merry Christmas

If Christmas is on a Sunday, we wake up, have breakfast (ham/prime rib, eggs, hash browns, toast, hot chocolate). Then we go to church. When we get home we open presents as a family. One person will play "Santa" (LOL) and pass out 1 present to each person. Youngest to oldest we'll open presents one at a time. Then the next round begins.
If not on a Sunday, we wake up, start opening presents for a few rounds, have breakfast, then finish with the presents. With a new family of my own, we'll see what changes are made to our traditions. =)

... My family gathers around the christmas tree that we all went out to cut together and giggled as my dad got snow on his head cutting it down. We open presents that consist of clothing, shoes and books, papers etc. All presents consist of things we need and never anything that we want unless what we need and what we want are the same thing. We sit down and eat a big meal and we don't celebrate any god but my father would make us watch all religious shows no matter which religion hosted or created them but mainly christian since it would be christmas, to encourage any kind of religion to grow. After dinner christmas is over, the tree comes down a week later and I think my mom only let it be put up because she, and I, loves sparkly things.

I serve Christmas dinner, so mostly cooking. And watching the small children. And tripping over wrapping paper.
After dinner, the whole family walks around the neighborhood to see the lights together. Then the adults have a drink and the kids collapse into bed.

We sip coffee, open presents and have dinner. We do not go to church (but we do say grace at dinner). This year, for the first time, we will visit my brother after opening gifts. My children love their family Christmas tradition so much that 'Christmas at home' made their Christmas wish list.

I ought to accept as true with Barkley related to the comparable questions asked on right here, and that i used to form the comparable answer out every time, then I realised if I only typed it out as quickly as i choose for only reproduction and paste while the question got here up lower back. each so many times i circulate and alter the wording so as that even i don't get bored to death with it. I do hate people who reproduction and paste somebody else's answer and then attempt to pass it off as their own just to get a ultimate answer, it extremely is cheating.

The kids wake us up telling us the cookies are gone, so is the reindeer food. We make coffee and bleary eyed watch them jump up and down opening presents. Eventually it calms down and I start cooking, while everyone plays with the new toys. then we usually go to see the rest of the family.

Go to family's house for dinner. :)
Complain about how everything is closed.
Talk about all the people that are going to run out first thing in the morning to go shopping.
