my ex sent me a text friday saying "im sorry things didnt work out, im stupid, thought it was worth trying" we talked a couple weeks ago and he said that he needed space as he was going to try at his failed year old relationship again. does this text mean it worked out? or not? he then wrote me saying (on sunday) can we watch a movie? whats up with this guy???

He is jerking your chain. He probably just felt lonely and thought of all the good times you had. But from the sounds of his text he did not come out and ask you anything. So what he did is just put out the bait. If you bite and you give him some. Then when things go south, he'll just tell you that he never said he wanted to get back together and YOU GOT PLAYED!!!
So don't fall for that! Wait until he actually says he wants to see you. And even then, do not just let him back in immediately. Because from the sounds of it you guys have never really resolve the reason why you all broke in in the first place.

Sounds like things didnt work out with his old relationship now hes trying to come back to you. Dont waste your time you are just setting yourself up for a lot of hurt, unless you really believe that things will work out this time. Good luck
