When taking Lexapro can you forget things you already knew or not remember things very easily? Is anyone having this issue?

Oh god! I'm not alone!!! I actually thought it was my imagination, but I am hearing this quite frequently now. I spoke to my pharmacist about this and he claims this is not a side affect??!! You are not alone! Best of luck

I switched from taking Paxil to Prozac to Effexor and back to Prozac. I finally stopped taking Prozac, which I took the longest, and I've been off for about a year or two now. Prozac works about the same way that Lexapro does btw. From my experience it does affect memory because it reduces anxiety.

I am less anxious now then I was before I began taking any drug and that decrease in anxiety causes me to pay less attention to details since I worry less whether I forget or not. Also, I feel less of a need to cycle through my worries every hour of the day. However, this may be a psychological affect due to my experience while being on drugs and adapting a new outlook. I suppose someone else may be able to get off of the drugs and switch straight back into worrying mode.

I think it all depends on what you choose to worry about and not while your on the Lexapro. Think about it as a stage to remold parts of yourself. This just from my own experience. Drugs can affect different people in different ways.
