yep. it's because the smoke is poison to your body. stop now while you can. you'll be glad later in life.

I have gotten a slight sore throat from it. Mostly it affected my lungs. It was getting hard to breath after smoking for just a few months so I quit right away.
(hopefully I'm not violating the new stupid and confusing community guidelines)

Yeah I guess it could have been caused by that! If you get smokers cough then it really kills your throat!!
