Have you tried a dandruff shampoo? Mine gets even itchier and flakier if I use it, but it is the place to start.
It sounds counter-intuitive, but you might need to wash less often. Try it for a week or so (washing your hair every two or even three days only).
And when you rinse, fill up a large bowl with lukewarm water, and add about a quarter cup of vinegar (any kind of vinegar will do) to it. Dunk your head in, and gently massage the parts of the scalp that are under water. You will have to twist to get as much of your scalp in as possible. The back is very hard -- I usually just dump the leftover water over the back of my head while massaging with the other hand. I don't need to use a creme rinse when I do this. Sometimes the creme rinse seems to be part of the problem.
The vinegar trick seems to be the best thing.
Another good thing is to cut down on sugar intake. I don't know why the two are connected -- it may have something to do with pre-diabetes -- but cutting down on sugar seems to help my scalp as well.

I first want to ask when you wash your hair and what you wash with. Washing too often or infrequently can cause this problem.
T-Gel works on the dandruff but can ruin your hair. I would suggest Garnier Fructise for Dandruff (it's the one with the white ball). It clears the dandruff almost instantly and makes your hair look beautiful! My hubby has the worst case of dandruff I've seen in my life and this worked great for him. It comes in shampoo, 2-in-1 and deep conditioner (which is a weekly thing, not everyday)
Wash your hair every two days, and it should clear up!

that probably happens because you don't wash your hair everyday, which believe it or not, is recommended. So all these symptoms are actually perfectly normal. You should try washing your hair every other day , this will definitely help with the itching, and probably also with the dandruff if you start using a dandruff shampoo.

Well I would have to say to wash your hair with a shampoo that is for dandruff. You could also find a shampoo that is for oily hair!!! That selsem blue stuff works really well for both the oily and the dandruff. But make sure that you scrub your scalp really well. Good luck!!! Hope it works out!!

There are multiple ways to handle dandruff. just follow these steps!
1..... use special shampoo that says on the bottle that it will help your dandruff problem.
2...... use the matching special conditioner, leave it in your hair for a few minutes. Just before you wash it out, use a fine toothed comb and comb your hair. Keep combing, even when you wash your hair under the water. ( Comb by the roots a lot)
3........ If it does not help, i sugest to shower a bit more

To get rid of the residue in your hair, you need to use a deep cleansing shampoo once a week to wash the residue off, then your hair will feel so much cleaner and so much lighter, I love Neutrogena's Anti-residue shampoo, you can check out the details at: http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&Itemid=99999999&id=330

ok I used to get dandruff and somedays it comes back but not often... Now I found that those things meant for dandruff removal (head and sholders, exc) didn't work and only made it worse and it smelt bad... But I really like to use that stuff in teh green bottle called like Garnier (don't know how to spell it) but I seems to work very well... Not the kind that is designed for Dandruff but there other kinds like the sleek and shine or anything... but thats my two cents... good luck...

Use Pantene Clarifying Shampoo once or twice a week. Shampoo it in...leave it in for a couple of minutes (I shave my legs in the shower while it's in) then rinse it out. It gets rid of the build up from hair products, excessive oils...etc. Trust me...your hair will be squeaky clean afterwards. Just once or twice a week is enough.
Good luck!

use a good anti dandruff shampoo i use zeal apply to wet hair and rub in to scalp for 2-3mins rinse, then re apply the shampoo it will lather this time thats the shampoo cleaning your hair rinse again, then conditon your hair only a samll amount needed masage in to scalp rinse, and style as normal...also brush your hair regualrly this will remove any loose flakes from your scalp, try not to wash your hair everyday each time you do so your stripping your hair of its natural oils without these will allow grease to build up quicker!!!
