I'm going to board a small plane and need to know when I should take it. I have 2mg. Should I take a full one? Half? How quick will it work. I want your personal opinions do not tell me to go to a doctor.

Have you taken Xanax before now? If you have not, please use caution. A 2 mg dosage is typically a maintenance dosage once the medication has gradually built up in your system, Taking 2 mg for the first time will probably cause serious adverse effects (restlessness, confusion, crying, delirium, headache, disorientation, anger, hostility and nausea) Initial doses are usually between 0.25 and 0.5 mg twice per day. The onset of action for xanax is about thirty minutes and lasts between 4 to 6 hours.

If you've never taken it before, 2 may put you to sleep. I would try half on one, about 15-20 minutes before boarding the plane. If after a half an hour, you still feel anxious, take the other half.
Xanax comes in 0.25, 0.5, 1 and 2mg tabs.

Hmmmm. Sounds like you didn't get this by prescription. 2mg is a large dose. You don't know how your body will react to this medication. I would advise not taking it at all. The biggest side effect will be acute drowziness. If you are traveling alone it is not a good idea. You also don't know how long it will affect you or whether or not you might have an adverse reaction. Miles high in the air is not a good place to find out.
Xanax works almost instantly.

takes about 20 min before you start to feel the effects. Try it out before the day to fly comes. See if you need a half and how long it takes of affect you.

i would take it at least 30 minutes before. Have you taken it before? Do you know how you react to this type of drug? If my friend took a half of a half a mg she would be wiped out - if it were me - give me more! but then I have a good history of drinking, minor drug use (way back in high school) so my tolerance is higher to sedation than hers

my husband is taking 2x day for anger problem seems just as angry & resentful as before. he was doing better on celexia generic STOPPED TAKING BEFORE XMAS BEING A SOB, but made him tired.HOW LONG
BEFORE HE IS NOT ANGRY ALL DAY!
