There are no mental illness that do not impair cognitive thinking but cause violence/violent tendencies. Only criminal behavior - and maybe tempory insanity (e.g. anger).

This may sound strange- But schizophrenia does not always impair cognitive function. The person who has it still knows there are some things he should not do- though he won't do them because he knows he will get hurt otherwise, rather than because they are wrong.

The quick answer is psychopathy. These individuals use charm and wit to get their own ways and can lead to violence.

manic episodes with a Manic depressive can become violent if not intervened
