I find it absurd and narrow minded that some westerners see fit to criticize Muslims for storing weapons in their Mosques.

People who bash Islam for this assume that all cultures should also believe that holy places are soley for peaceful purposes.

Simply because its totally unheard of, for temples or chruches synagogues, to be used for such purposes, doesnt mean that such a practice is wrong.

The Islamic community has a different belief about wartime, and in contrast to other religions, uses such community centers as the focus of wartime coordination and logistics.

All this proves is that Islamic culture is very different from western cultures, but it doesnt make it wrong...or right...

Yes it does make it wrong. Especially when muslims claim that Islam is a religion of peace. Which you and I both know is false. Yes, Islam is very different from western cultures. It's much worse. It is the most vile and disgusting religion practiced today and it sickens me to know that people of the same generation venerate it's tenets.

The Islamic religion is a branch of the Abrahamic faiths, and considers houses of worship whether churches, Synagogues, or Mosques sacred places that shouldn't be harmed even in times of war. Trying to spread the lie that we store weapons there just to justify bombing them and making this seem more of a clash between two cultures is wrong. Mosques are a place worship, refuge, and aid during wars ..even if there are a few examples of people abusing these holy places doesn't mean all do. Besides, where do you get the evidence Islam sanctions this?

You chose a nice way to bash a religion didn't you? Don't know what you are talking about but lets assume you are right, then question is how can they do something like that right? I mean so what if those weapons are not weapons of mass destruction like the non-Muslim countries have, so what if they don't have thousand of nuclear warheads again like the non-Muslim countries do? They should probably keep their weapons somewhere else.

I think most organised religion through history or even now, has been to do with the men (usually) in charge exercising control over those underneath, and leads to many, many conflicts which tend to be against the principles of the religion(s) in question.

sherzade is correct. What we do is build structures that look like mosques over our weapons. This is a legitimate military tactic known as camouflage.

I never visited a mosque that stored weapons.

Peace be upon you.

Absolutely. Don't worry about what others think. You go right ahead and store whatever you want in the mosque. Besides, what Islam thinks about pigs others don't, so what does it matter who stores what. Hallelujah, Allah O Akbar, Jai Ram baby yeah! and the rest of it.

OK then it works both ways. Dont complain then if we decide to bomb a Mosque because it is holding weapons.

It isn't that you store weapons in a mosque. It's that you store weapons in a mosque and then get the UN to condem us when we bomb it. Make a mousque that stores weapons sign a waivier, or should we assume that all mosques have weapons.
