An oil cap with BOLTS ???

In stock form it takes 2.5 quarts, but seeing as it's a performance engine it probably has some type of oil filter on it and may have an oil sump so it could take a great deal more. As all ready stated above the generator / alternator pedestal is on the other side of the motor and connected by 4 bolts.

no, that's where the fuel pump normally goes, you may have it blocked off if you have an aftermarket electric fuel pump. The tower that hold the alternator has a cap to the right, that's where the oil goes.http://www.reluctantmechanic.com/images/vw_beetle_enginebay_oil.jpg
is a great picture of a stock engine. Filler should be in the same spot. I really reccomend getting a good book. That engine will require alot of maintenence.
