Move and change your phone number before he becomes a stalker. J/k I would say that you should just be firm when you say no and don't try to soften the blow by being nice about it or he will think that he will change your mind. If he really is a great friend he will back off, real friends only want the best for you and won't pressure you into something that you don't want. Be polite but honest with him and respect that your rejection might hurt him for awhile and the friendship might change some but time will heal and life will give him his soulmate.

Listen, us guys are stubborn and when we see a girl we like we go after that girl no matter how many times she says no. I don't do this. I was never totally crazy for a girl. If you don't like him just tell him next time he ask you out. DONT BRING IT UP YOURSELF. Tell him that if he doesn't stop you will no longer be his friend. If that doesn't work then someday when you two are hanging out together casually mention that your 29 year old cousin is getting released early from prison and he's coming to see you. And if that doesn't work just leave another message. I'll get to it.

Tell him you aren't going to be able to be friends with him if he can't stop asking you out. Let him know that there is no way you want to be with him as a boyfriend you are just looking for a friend. If he can't stop then you shouldn't be friends with him you don't want to make him think you are leading him on or anything, guys can be stupid like that.

This is kinda twisted but one of my friends has done this, you could talk to his friends and find out what really ticks him off and what he dislikes and start doing some of these things that offend him, he should back off eventually...

You have to be cruel to be kind. Cut him out of your life at least for a while until he understands. Or, you could try going out w/ him just once and see how it goes.
