that is like asking what is the first step in taking a step. This may not be want you want, but the first step in trusting Him is to do it. Once you say "God I trust you" then try not to worry about it anymore.
Worrying is actually a sin, and by doing so you show that you don't trust GOD.

Learn about Him! Only with knowledge comes informed decisions. The more you study about God, the more real He becomes to you, and the more real He becomes, the more in line you will make your life with His wishes. Good luck in your search for the truth!

The firsts step is believing that He is. Then confess to Him that you are a sinner (we all are), ask for forgiveness, and ask Him to come into your heart. He said He would, so believe it.

Its okay not to trust at first. You will find that He will meet you at the level you can handle. As you come to know Him you begin to trust HIM.......

Write down your prayers. Then look back at them some time later. You'll find that God has answered them.

There was once a wise sage (someone I knew) who said, you never know just what you can depend on, but you can depend on something.
