Giving the potatoes a 'head start' in the nuker works well if you nuke for half the time your zapper says to use. Example: Your nuker's "baked potato" button zaps for 5 minutes. Take the potato out a 2:30 and then put in the regular oven @ 400 for 15 minutes or so instead of the usual 40-50 minutes needed to bake. You get that really good fluffy, dry, intense potato flavor and texture of a great potato in about half the time!

You can do that be careful not to over microwave or when you put it in the oven it may become overdooked. I've done that before to crisp up the skin. I just make sure I have time for it to finish baking. Timing depends on the wattage of microwave. I would assume 2 potatoes 7 - 10 minutes, then on high heat oven up to another 10.

The microwave is surely faster. A large potato takes between 8-10 mins. Put it in a container with a little water on the bottom to keep it from getting rubbery. Stab it with a knife or fork one good time. Cover it with a lid or seran wrap.

Wash potatoes, dry potatoes, rub w/ oil, shortening, or butter, wrap in foil, bake 350 for about 40 min. poke with fork, if soft enough for you it's done.
microwaved baked potatoes...I'll keep this clean...aren't as good, but if you're reheating a baked potato, add butter and heat in a covered dish.
