I agree with the others, what would you do if you were in the first phase of the war. When all the soldiers and marines didn't have mailing addresses and were constantly on the move. A lot of these guys didn't even have a phone to call home with. Their wives didn't have a mailing address for them. They never stayed in one place . Now lets say that your units leading the convoy in to iraq. You come under heavy fire, who is going to bring you your medicine two days later while your getting shot at? The Medics are busy attending to wounded and your telling them that you need your insulin. It's the same thing as why women aren't in the infantry.

There is a waiting list to get into the Air Force. The draftees will be going straight to the front line. That is no place for someone to go into insulin shock. The military is not a welfare state. Every body is needed and I'm sorry to say you will need to find another way to serve your country.

No, the standards are low enough already. As an insulin dependent diabetic, you may be unfit to serve our country in a combat position, but it seems to me you should be able to serve in a stateside position. Personally, I admire your desire to serve, but, I would not want to put my life in the hands of a diabetic in need of his insulin during a battle...

Sorry pal, the military will never let you join because of your condition. It is honorable of you to want to serve your country but the rules are there to protect you. Also remember that they are not rejecting you they are rejecting your condition. You can however support your country and the troops in other ways look into it.

The medical standards should never be lowered. They protect
you and them.

The test standards could be lowered 5 points without harming
the ability of the army to cope with High Tech weaponry.

First, there is not going to be a draft. The last time Rep. Rangel (D-NY) brought it up, even *he* voted against it.

I to am unfit to serve, as I have a long history of mental illness.

A draft will bring in more qualified trainees than an all-volunteer force.

I believe you should be able to serve in a support role. Quartermasters is a good example.
